JOB DESCRIPTION:   
The Enrollments Supervisor administers the day-to-day operations of the MI Choice Home and Community Based Medicaid Waiver and Community Living/Care Management.  The programs are targeted to older adults, and younger persons with disabilities, who have limited financial resources and who medically qualify for nursing home admission.  The programs have a wide range of service options from which a care plan can be designed that is most responsive to the individual's home care needs.  Supervise and direct assigned staff to ensure compliance and quality with agency and departmental policies and procedures.  Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in program management. Promote public awareness and support initiatives to establish and strengthen relationships through speaking engagements, presentations, and attendance at community events, meetings, conferences and workshops. AAA 1-B makes the commitment to positively impact the health and well-being of older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers.   • Provide supervision to enrollment staff to achieve CSS goals.  Support the assigned locations and programs to ensure compliance with set standards, Offices of Services to the Aging regulations and MDCH, and other contractual agreements.  Identify potential issues and problems and actively implement solutions and performance improvement.
  • Supervise assigned staff to ensure compliance with agency and departmental policies and procedures.  Assist in development and implement departmental training activities as related to quality, MDHHS contract and AASA service standards. Adherence to departmental policies and procedures. Interview, hire and organize orientation of new staff.
  • Assist in the implementation of a quality and performance improvement for the department based on established framework.  Support to appeals process, and complaint management.
  •  Compile data as needed to aid in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports as requested.
  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with all AAA 1-B departments, long term care consumers, Department of Human Services Offices, community agencies, state and local governments, hospitals, nursing facilities and other stakeholders. Promote public awareness and establish and strengthen relationships through speaking engagements, presentations, and attendance at community events, meetings, conferences and workshops.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelors Degree in Social Work acceptable; Bachelor Degree in Nursing, or Master Degree in Social Work preferred. Must have current State of MI License required in Social Work or Nursing.
  • 2-6 years of experience required with assessment of medical and psycho-social needs of older adults and adults with disabilities and skilled home care experience. (*years vary: MS + 1-2; BS 3-4; and Associates + 5-6 years).
  • Total experience must include: 1) some experience supervising others in: performance feedback; coaching; case reviews and approvals; quality assessment and feedback; etc.; AND 2) prior experience personally managing a caseload of persons with diverse needs, knowledge of community resources; AND 3) sound clinical judgement and ability to coach team through clinical decision making processes. 4) prior experience working with older adults and adults with disabilities.
  • Must have strong clinical, interpersonal, organizational and supervisory skills.  Experience in managed care helpful.  Knowledge of community based services and experience working with older adults or people with disabilities desired.
  • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Strong MS Office skills.
