Quality Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will perform hands on tasks on a daily basis in regard to verifying product meets design requirements
- Thru use of handheld scanner
- Use of calipers, and other tools
- By reviewing drawings and comparing to actual product
- Participate in Customer PDT meetings and address quality topics as needed
- Collaborating with customers on DFMEAs and pre-launch quality requirements
- Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis
- Working directly with customers when non conformities are found, and mitigating risk by implementing robust corrective action, and rapid containment actions
- Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
- Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation
- Considering the application of environmental and health/safety standards
- Following standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to enact
- Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
- Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation
- Identifying relevant quality-related training needs
- Collating and analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters
- Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary
- Monitoring prototype staff to ensure tests and checks for product builds are perfumed
- Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures
- Collaborating with customers' auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications
- Establishing standards of service for customers or clients
- Preparing clear explanatory documents such as customers' charters
- Monitoring performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
- In the event of discovering a deviation from specification, the employee has the authority to escalate the issue through the notification procedure, up to and including stopping production and activating the emergency action plan, if applicable.

In addition to the above outlined duties, the jobholder agrees to perform individual duties within the department at the direction of the supervisor.
Special authorities:
The jobholder is authorized to:
- use a company car for business trips,
- incur expenses within the existing guidelines.
Requirements:
- Pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and any random or for-cause drug screen.
- Associate or Bachelor degree in engineering, quality or related discipline.
- Prior automotive manufacturing experience required
- Ability to work efficiently within a team or independently on a regular basis
- Focus on safety, quality, and productivity – in that order
- Detailed and precise approach to work
- An ability to look for improvements in processes
- Strong leadership and technical ability
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Self-motivation; ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
