General Summary:    

Responsible to manage, document and technically lead the system development for E-Mobility products. Key player to understand the customer design criteria at a system level.  Work with the Preh development team worldwide as required to implement customer requirements. Document system design development concept for the automotive industry, considering functionality, quality and cost.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible to technically lead all system design engineering activities from concept phase, development phase until successful launch of projects for E-Mobility products.

  2. Provide technical directions and mentoring to the engineering team.

  3. Solid experience in system design involving products like BMS, OBC, DC-DC Converters for E-Mobility automotive systems.

  4. Responsible to lead all reviews/clarifications of technical specifications internally and with the customer. Document system design requirements with internal/customer engineering teams to ensure all requirements are clear and covered by the design, including any functional safety requirements applicable or interfacing with our corresponding E-Mobility product in our requirement management system.

  5. Work with cross-functional teams to assist in system integrations for various E-Mobility products including mechanical design with high voltage electrical system.

  6. Leading root cause analysis and perform technical studies related to the system design.

  7. Participate in test phases and steps of the FMEA.

  8. Support Preh and customer assembly plants for system design related issues.

  9. Support new business quotations and analysis.

  10. Comply with IATF16949 policies and procedures.

  11. Perform related duties as assigned or as situation dictates.

 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Experience with design, analysis and integration of mechanical, low and high voltage electrical and embedded software systems in the automotive industry.

  2. Experience with requirement analysis, specification, testing, and validation of mechanical, electrical and software design in the automotive industry.

  3. Knowledge using tools like CATIA V5, DOORS, Surround, Test Track, Vector Tools, etc.

  4. Experience with E-Mobility standards

  5. Strong oral and written communications skills. Strong ability in the areas of team work and customer support.

  6. Strong ability of team leadership

  7. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

  8. Ability to be self-motivated and work with minimum supervision.

  9. Ability to handle multiple tasks with professionalism, easy and high accountability.

Education and Experience:         

  • Bachelor degree or Equivalent in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical or Software Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience as a System Design Engineer for automotive E-Mobility products.

  • Proficient English language, German or/and Spanish is a plus
