Prototype Technician Job Description:
Coordinate project activities in areas of Prototype builds, and Quality inspections with the Engineering team.
Coordinate tooling and other project related activities with the global Fraenkische team for assigned projects being coordinated within the NA region, or with suppliers originating in the NA region.
Follow timing plans for advanced development projects (ie Alpha and Beta builds). Coordinate prototypes.
Assist with the training of employees and contractors in the Rochester Hills office in regard to project builds to successfully manage a project.
Take lead in the implementation of the Fraenkische – Rochester Hills Advanced Prototype facility for early customer builds, logistics, supply of components and 5s.
May issue direction, instruction and advice to contractors in the prototype area.
Owner of open issues for Prototype projects.
Manages timelines for builds.
Coordinate successful Prototype activities with Engineering team.
Interaction and coordination with manufacturing launch team regarding APQP launch and Engineering Change Process. Coordinated hand off from Prototype to the Manufacturing plant.
Observe and demonstrate compliance to the relevant legal provisions and regulations.
Ensure that the document flow is always in compliance with the requirements of our QA System and our Quality Management Handbook provisions.
In the event of discovering a deviation from specification, the employee has the authority to escalate the issue through the notification procedure, up to and including stopping production and activating the emergency action plan, if applicable.
