SUMMARY The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for supporting warehouse operations in preparations of shipping documents and documentation of inventory control. Help as necessary in warehouse receiving, loading and storing cargo.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Input warehouse receiving, shipping and billing information into a computerized inventory system.
Prepares and transmits data via EDI as required by the customer using ASN’s
Maintain computer inventory software.
Provides rates and quotes for general warehouse customers as needed.
Maintain proper inventory control.
Prepares and issues monthly and special reports.
Prepares and issues invoices to customers.
Audits, approves, and processes vendor invoices for payment.
Processes customer requests for expedited shipments.
Helps facilitate requests within warehouse operations and Container Freight Station operations when necessary.
Performs all additional duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by the company.
Assists in materials handling for warehouse operations when required.
Assists in building and facilities maintenance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft Office skills and ISO 9001 Training is required. Hi-Lo certification is required. TSA certification is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to write routine reports. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The work environment is an office/warehouse environment. The position will require the interaction with the warehouse and trucking operation. The position requires that safety and alertness at all times be used in all transit of areas outside of the office environment.
