Aleva Stores began in 1957 and is now a third generation multi-channel retailer based in Rochester Hills, Michigan.  The company currently operates twelve e-commerce websites.  Aleva Stores has a state-of-the-art distribution center that processes an average of 2,000 shipments daily with seasonal daily spikes as high as 10,000 shipments.  We also offer third party fulfillment services and we've grown to become the logistical backbone for many companies.  

Retail Bloom began in 2015, and is a division of Aleva Stores. Retail Bloom provides pre-launch product, identity and channel analysis, life-cycle marketplace strategy and launch guidance followed by long term support to evolving eCommerce brands.

The Business Development Associate will be responsible for leading complex internal projects, managing existing and new partnerships, evaluating business-specific objectives, and driving the development, delivery and adoption of solutions to address business and client needs for the Retail Bloom division. This position will coordinate all activities of the project team, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop & implement project plans to ensure timely completion of projects. This will include development and maintenance of implementation plans for, client expansion opportunities, Amazon Global sites, Referral partnerships, and others as developed. This position will also develop work plans that consider the priorities, time & cost estimates, resource requirements, and identification of tasks that must be performed to achieve success.


Business Development:
  • Demonstrates and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans
  • Ensures project manager development and continued successful performance
  • Manages multiple, highly complex eCommerce projects and business development partnerships (for example, new marketplace expansion and referral opportunties)
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions
  • Acquire and grow Retail Bloom customers  and partnerships by obtaining marketplace services agreements
  • Work with Retail Bloom Manager to continue building and executing strategy for this business area
  • Assist in identification of processes needed to support this business area as well as the key services needed to complete a competitive offering
  • Works with Retail Bloom Manager and other team members to attend conferences, webinars, and networking events in order to maintain industry education and best practices
  • Effectively creates mutually beneficial relationships with customers and new partners
  • Identifies and manages the appropriate resources through the duration of the project to drive results
  • Identify top trade shows for client acquisition, travel to trade shows, and meet with prospects and clients in an effort to grow sales
  • Develops new account opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing info and explanations; providing pricing and obtaining signed client agreements
  • Travel to prospective and current clients as needed to support sales growth
  • Coordinate with client and internal departments for on-boarding process
  • Maintain client relationships
  • Report regularly to supervisor on results of sales efforts
  • Works with Marketplace Operations Manager as interdepartmental liaison with other departments in general workflow touching each department, and works within the departments to set up processes for best efficiency for teams
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, by setting expectations, customizing a project plan for the solution, and executing to meet project timelines. Demonstrates the ability to apply relevant use-cases to issues that customers are facing.

  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Management, or related field required
  • Online digital or marketplace experience (eBay,, Amazon etc.) is not required but would be helpful
